I swear, I'm not touching the screen. AI is doing everything. It's building the whole theme, all the pages by itself without me touching anything. >> Shopify released a new update called Compass. And I know you've heard this line so many times this year, but this update might be the real only one that's going to change entirely how we build stores on Shopify. This update is going to replace themes, basically. I believe there would be no more themes in the Shopify theme store. Maybe some of them will survive this update. I'm not pretty sure. But basically with this update, Shopify is allowing us to build our store directly within Shopify using Shopify AI tool. You no longer need to connect your store with ChatGPT or with Claude to build your theme or to code or to do any of these things. Everything will be happening within Shopify. This is a new update and they are still rolling it out. So, if you don't have it yet, it's totally fine. You will have it very soon. Actually, I just had it today and I'm going to test it directly with you live on this video. So, let's get started. In order to know if you have this update on your store, you just need to go to online store and from here when you click on new you should be able to start creating within Compass. If you don't have this update yet, you won't be seeing this option in here. I'm going to click on plus and see what's going to happen. So, basically, this is the new editor and in here it's asking us what type of themes or what type of vibes do we want on our store. I'm not going to actually choose any of these options because I'm thinking I'm going to ask it to create something that works for Halloween. I will keep it simple and see what's going to happen. Okay. Now basically, Sidekick is working and it's creating the theme based on what I have requested. For sure, I could have been more accurate, added more information about what I want to create, but I'm just trying to start with something very basic. And as you can see, it's creating the theme in front of us. It's creating the different pages. So, we have the homepage, the products, the collections, and we can preview all all them all at the same time in front of us, not like in the other editor where we needed to like move from one page to another. And it's really nice to see AI working directly in front of us. So, we will need to wait a little bit of time until it finishes and see the final results. Just so you know, in the last year or maybe few months, so many of the big companies that create themes for the Shopify theme store has sized down because AI was changing everything. Fewer and fewer merchants were actually buying professional themes and them. Especially that the model on Shopify was a one-time payment for themes. I think this update is going to take things even further cuz now I'm not even sure if we still need to use a theme to build on or it's enough to use like the Horizon or one of Shopify's free themes and simply ask AI to modify it. This is a question that we can't answer at the moment, but maybe in few weeks we will have the answer for. We will see. But, things are changing and if you want to stay up-to-date, you must go with the changes, you must learn them, and you must work with them. Oh my god, I can't believe it. I'm not touching anything and it's creating the full store for me. This is amazing. So, now the AI is creating my home page and I noticed that it's using an image that I don't have on my store. So, most of probably it was generated by AI and used directly in here. I didn't touch anything. And even the text, even the buttons, it's doing everything by itself. So, I'm reading this and as per say right kick, actually these images are stock images and right kick used them in my store. I can ask it to change them and maybe ask it also to change the product pages since it's also asked me about this. Can you on the home page generate images of my products that are Halloween themed instead of using stock images? And yes, for updating the product pages to also match the Halloween vibes. I was also hoping to have like some skulls here and there to give more Halloween vibes, maybe ghosts and something like this if you can add them somehow. Okay, I think I'm being a little bit adventurous in here because I've asked for too much in one prompt and I even asked to add skulls. So, let's see if this going to work or not. Okay, I want to show you what Sidekick did. I'm still speechless. So, basically Sidekick created images that are Halloween themed for my cushions. They are not 100% accurate, but it's a start and it added skulls and ghosts and they are moving ghosts as you can see in here. Like they are moving. It even generated these images for my products with Halloween ghosts and skulls. All of this in seconds. I didn't touch anything. That By the way, this is a trial store. That's why you see that the name is True Avenue, but the products are cushions. It's just a trial store and as you can see in here on my product page, I have also the ghost, I have the skull, I have the image, I have the full store themed. I'm actually speechless. Let's try to do something more complicated this time instead of only asking for design and let's ask it to add a feature within our product page. And this time I'm going to ask it to maybe just add a an option to add a complementary cushion and offer a small discount of 10% discount over this bundle. So, customer can add to cart and when they add to cart a discount of 10% is going to be applied directly. Let's see if this is going to happen. I want to add a section in the in my product page where someone can add a complementary cushion to any cushion they are purchasing and when they do that, they will get directly 10% off and this is going to be my Halloween offer basically. Can you do this for me and make sure that the discount only works between now and Halloween and that's it. So, basically in here I'm asking Sidekick not only to change the theme, but also to take actions within my store. So, let's see if it's going to be able to create code or not. I'm I'm a a hesitant whether this is going to work or not because we are inside of the editor. So, I'm not sure if Sidekick also has access to the discounts from here. Let's see. Just so you know, and to keep you posted, actually Sidekick opened the discount and it's creating the discount now code now and it's asking me to save it. So, I need to save it and it's building up the section I asked for within my product page and even the name of the section is fun. Someone is second cushion. So, let's see how the final result is going to look like. So, Sidekick finished creating the section, but I can't see the products in here, so I'm going to ask it a follow-up question about this. The section is now here, but I can't see the products in here. So, what's the problem? So, there is a summon a second cushion section, but there are no products that I can add directly. Can you fix this? Remember, whenever you are working with AI, don't expect that everything would be perfect from the first trial. It's also a matter of asking, of prompting, of really knowing what you want to have in your store and just always get back to the AI and ask it to correct, to improve, give it very clear instructions about what you want to do. As you can see in here, like in the first trial, this section isn't working. So, let's see if now, after this question, it's going to actually work. As you can see, actually it fixed the error and now I can see the products in here. So, don't give up on AI quickly, always ask follow-up questions. So, we have the section now live. I will stop playing around with the theme. I will see now how it this is going to look like in different devices. So, from here you can see the desktop view or the tablet view or the mobile view. I care the most about mobiles and I think it's the same for any store. Uh so, let's focus on this one in here. As you can see, this is the product page. We have the title, the price, and we have the section that we have just created in here in order to add the products to cart and we have everything set up in here to into a Halloween theme. Now, if you are happy with this theme and you want to get it live, all we need to do is to click on publish and the theme will be directly published on our store. Once the theme was published, I noticed that in here the button is now update, so I think when you change anything in here, you can click on update to reflect whatever you have done directly on your published theme. Now, let's preview the Halloween theme we have just created. So, this is the theme in here and everything in here is 100% done by AI. I didn't add any text or anything. I like the vibes. I like the images. I like the moving ghosts. Now, let's go to one of the products to see if the section that AI created actually works. So, we have this offer in here. Let me add this one first to cart to see if we're going to get the discount code. As you can see, we have the Halloween 10% off on your second cushion already applied. So, this is actually very nice and it took us just few minutes and few prompts to get this done and I'm pretty sure if we spend more time on this, we can have better results for sure. One last thing that I want to mention about this update that it doesn't only work on the live theme on your Shopify store or on your totally theme. It also work on your previous theme. So, anything that you have, if you click on the three dots in here, you can duplicate and converse and start working on this theme within the new editor dashboard using AI. I'm not sure if this applies to all themes or just the free Shopify themes. I don't have any paid one in here on this trial store and I wasn't able to test it. So, let me know if you have tested it yourself. And as you can see, I have now my theme opened and I can start modifying it in the same way that I have modified my Halloween theme just by asking Sidekick here to do stuff. Converse is one of the biggest update Shopify has done in the last year in my opinion. It's going to change things a lot and makes things way easier for merchants. But, this is not the only update that you should be focusing on. Now, you can use AI to manage almost everything in your business.
